12" (30 cm.) Slightly molded felt face having hand-painted features based on the original illustrations in 1905 French children's magazine, La Semaine de Suzette, swivel head, jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing French traditional costume as depicted in the story. Excellent condition. 2006. Presented in a limited edition of 250 at a UFDC dinner event.

Joel measures 12.5" tall from top of hat to soles of boots. He has a molded felt face including raised black eyes with white dot accents. He has light peachy pink cheeks, nostril accents, and lips. He has light auburn, shoulder-length hair that is longer in back with bangs. He is we.
He is wearing a traditional Breton provincial costume with white, high-collared shirt with 2 vertical rows of small black decorative buttons (snaps are underneath) and a red and yellow felt trim at the neck with black stripe and dots, which closes with a hook and eye. The sleeve ends also have red felt trim and small black decorative buttons. Over the shirt, he is wearing a black felt vest lined in blue-grey cotton. The front of the vest has yellow felt faux buttons and yellow felt faux pockets. His knickerbocker-style pants are grey felt with an attached red felt cumberband at the waist. The pants close in the back with 2 snaps and are gathered at the knee; below the knee is black felt that covers his shoe tops with red trim and black buttons. He is wearing brown leather lace shoes.
The RJW paper tag is attached to the back of the red felt waist band and reads "Silly Goose Tales" Joel No. 244/250. The certificate of authenticity indicates Joel is an exclusive UFDC piece, 244 of 250 pieces. The box is decorated in a blue-and-white striped themed motif. The label at the box end says Becassine Collection Joel 244. The box is in excellent condition protected with a white cardboard outerbox. The doll only fits sideways in the box.
