Hummel - The Merry Wanderer

The RJW Hummel® collection will be led by "The Merry Wanderer" - the most iconic of all the Hummel figurines.

Made for the first time in the felt medium, The Merry Wanderer is fully jointed with the RJW ball & socket system with internal wood mechanism. Standing approximately 12" tall, The Merry Wanderer has a distinctive custom face mold, delicately hand painted features, and a wig of the finest mohair. The expressive hands have individually-sewn fingers and molded sculptural details. The Merry Wanderer comes costumed in his all-felt 3-piece suit as shown in the illustration above with a molded felt bowler hat and umbrella. His entire outfit has been artistically shaded to evoke the original Hummel coloring exactly. Sturdy hand-cobbled leather shoes and a felt and alpaca carpet bag with wood rails complete his trademark ensemble. As a final perfect touch, in the tiny pocket of his trousers there is a custom-made RJW pocket watch made of brass with a glass lens! Every detail has been meticulously researched to insure that this is the finest and most authentic Hummel® doll ever made.

Produced at the R. John Wright workshop in Bennington, Vermont in a worldwide limited edition of only 250 pieces, each Merry Wanderer will come inside a deluxe presentation box with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Hummel - The Hummel Skier

The second issue in the RJW Hummel® collection is the charming Hummel "Skier" based on an original illustration by Sister Marie Innocentia.

The Skier is made entirely of the finest all-wool felt. Fully jointed with the RJW ball & socket system with internal wood mechanism, he stands approximately 12" tall. This darling little boy has a distinctive molded felt face, delicately hand painted features, and a wig of the finest mohair. His expressive hands have individually-sewn fingers and molded sculptural details. The Skier comes costumed in his classic all-felt ski suit as shown above with a felt cap and mittens. His entire outfit has been artistically shaded to evoke the original Hummel coloring. Sturdy hand-cobbled leather boots and a set of handmade wooden skis and poles trimmed in leather complete his trademark period ensemble. Every detail has been meticulously researched to capture the essence and emotion of the original Hummel® children.

The Skier is produced at the R. John Wright workshop in Bennington, Vermont in a limited edition of only 150 pieces worldwide. Each will come inside a deluxe presentation box with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. The third issue in the RJW Hummel® collection is the beautiful "Celestial Musician" based on an original illustration by Sister Marie Innocentia.

The Celestial Musician is made entirely of the finest all-wool felt. Fully jointed with the RJW ball & socket system with internal wood mechanism, the lovely angel child stands approximately 12" tall. This is the first RJW Hummel to feature the distinctive lowered eye lids. The molded felt head has delicately hand painted features, and a wig of the finest mohair. The expressive hands have individually-sewn fingers and sculptural details.

The Celestial Musician comes costumed in a classic all-felt gown with metallic star motif. The angel wings are beautifully sculpted and molded out of felt and delicatelly hand painted. The entire costume has been artistically shaded in subtle hues to evoke the original Hummel coloring perfectly. The little musician holds a custom-made violin and bow handcrafted out of wood at the R. John Wright Workshop. A satchel made of all-wool felt hangs on a strap from one shoulder. Every detail has been meticulously researched to capture the essence and emotion of the original Hummel® design. Each doll includes a felt-covered wooden stand with a metal rod which inserts into a leg for easy display.

The fourth issue in the RJW Hummel® collection is the charming "Angel Serenade" based on the original illustrations by Sister Marie Innocentia.

A lovely companion piece to the previously-issued Celestial Musician, Angel Serenade is made entirely of the finest all-wool felt and fully jointed with the RJW ball & socket system with internal wood mechanism.

The lovely angel child stands approximately 12" tall. The molded felt head has delicately hand painted features and a wig of the finest mohair. The molded torso and limbs have sculptural details and the hands feature individually-sewn fingers.

Angel Serenade comes costumed in a classic all-felt gown with a hand-applied metallic motif. The costume has been artistically shaded in subtle hues to evoke the original Hummel coloring.

The angel wings are molded out of felt and beautifully hand painted. The little musician holds a custom-made mandolin handcrafted out of wood at the R. John Wright Workshop.

The darling RJW lamb by her side is made of all-wool plush with a jointed neck, glass eyes and a brass bell on a silk ribbon. Every detail has been meticulously researched to capture the essence and emotion of the original Hummel® artwork.

Each Angel Serenade includes a felt-covered wooden base with a metal rod which inserts into a leg for effortless display.
